Sharene Lee

Sharene Lee is the cofounder of Takadao, a technology platform powering community-owned insurance alternatives on the blockchain. Its flagship product, The LifeDAO, is a global life insurance alternative. She also hosts Takatalks, a podcast at the intersection of crypto and Islamic finance.

Sharene previously cofounded and served as COO of Melltoo, a peer-to-peer marketplace acquired by the IKEA group in Saudi Arabia. She’s been recognised with multiple awards, including GITEX Supernova’s “Best Female Led Startup” and the Leap Rocket Fuel “Aviatrix Award.” She’s also been featured on Meet the Drapers and FII’s Visionaries.

Originally from Singapore, Sharene now lives in Riyadh. She has a master’s in EdTech and is a mother of seven. A passionate mentor and contributor to the Islamic Web3 space, Sharene is on a mission to help individuals achieve financial freedom through community-driven financial alternatives.
